It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elmer David Young of Burr Oak, Michigan, who passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, David Young and Ruth Young (Armbruster); his sisters, Alice Ethridge and Lois Yoder; his son-in-law Tom Lackey; his grandson Adam Lackey; and his grandson-in-law Nick Carson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Nutt; his daughters, Beth Smoker (Randy) of Colon, MI, Shirley Mallow (Lloyd) of Bronson, MI, Brenda Lackey of Dillon, Darlyn Holbrook (Butch) of Bronson, MI and Susie Eldred (Marty) of Marcellus, MI; his grandchildren, Kendall Smith (Casie), Jessica Cossiart (Matt), Keri Carson, Chelsea Riley (Gary) and Sarah Holbrook (Kaleb); his great grandchildren, Donovan Cossiart, Harley Cossiart, Finn Carson, Felix Carson, Gavin Laurie and Ember Riley; and his pet Joey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes (807 E Chicago Rd, Sturgis, MI 49091). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to the St. Joseph County Animal Control, 652 E. Main St., Centreville, MI 49032.
