He was predeceased by: his parents, John Eugene and Jeanie Ash (Jenson); his stepmother Eithel Ash; and his former wife Sherryl Ash. He is survived by: his wife Marsha K. Smith (Wagner); his children, Elizabeth Jordan (Bruce) of Burr Oak and Joseph Ash of Windsor; his stepsons, James R. Smith Jr. (Precious) of Mendon and Brian D. Smith (Kristin) of Ada; his grandchildren, Harrison Swihart (Jasmine), Connor Swihart, Caleb Jordan, Riley Jordan, Kaitlyn Jordan and Noah Jordan; his stepgrandchildren, Allyah Smith, Lyndsay Smith (Florenzio), Grace Smith, Capri Pargie Smith and Wesley Richard Smith; and his great grandchildren, Asteria, Amorah and Theoden.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. (308 S Blackstone Ave #9340, Colon, MI 49040). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Ash Family or the Colon Church of Christ.
