It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita E Prokopowicz of Burt Lake, Michigan, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Aloysius Kamyszek and Theresa Kamyszek (Bruski); her brothers, Leo Kamyszek and Richard Kamyszek; and her siblings-in-law, Kennard Gerrie (Jerome Slominski) and Donna Beach.
She is survived by: her husband Ted Prokopowicz of Casmir's Catholic Church; her children, Matthew (Joanna) of Queen Creek, AZ and Jennifer Kuivinen (Bradley) of Burt Lake; her sisters, Dorothy Gerrie of Presque Isle, Irene Slominski of Alpena and Virginia Kieliszewski (Tom) of Alpena; and her sister-in-law Carol Kamysek of Two Rivers.
Memorial contributions can be made to Cross in the Woods Catholic Shrine, Right to Life of Michigan, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
