He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Rivera and Violet Rivera (Davenport); his wife Elvia "Dee" Rivera; his siblings, Ed Rivera and Rita Crawford; his parents-in-law, Alvaro and Aurora Trujillo; his brothers-in-law, Alvaro Trujillo, Jr., Alvaro "Pico" Trujillo, Jr., Patrick Lane, Melvin Hutchinson and John Lipp; and his pets, Chelsea and Winston.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tamara Bond (Bryan), Kelly Rivera-Craine (Troy) and Danielle Rivera; his grandchildren, Anita Edwards (Jammie) and Connor Bond; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Kiley and Isabella; his siblings, Fran Gay, Linda Smith (John) and Jeff Rivera (Karen); his siblings-in-law, Yolanda Lipp, Irma Lane, Nora Bass (Mark), Norma Hutchinson, Maria MacFarlane (Jim), Susanna Coryell (James) and Ernest Trujillo (Sherry); and his pet Oliver. He is also survived by other loving family members and good friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in Daniel's memory.
