He was predeceased by: his parents, Harmon Smith and Mary Smith (Cox); and his wife Opal Lucille Hicks. He is survived by: his children, Guy Smith (Christine Mienkwic) of Swartz Creek, Lisa Adams of Arkansas and Ty Smith (Joann) of Fenton; and his grandsons, Jason Adams, Kyle Smith, Adam Smith and Zach Smith. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
A burial was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery (4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442).
