She was predeceased by: her son-in-law Steve Newlin. She is survived by: her husband Ron Deschler; her children, Kara, Jana and Matt (Donee); and her grandchildren, Monroe, Alex, Danaan, Kasey, Dylan, Anna and Caleb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Superintendent's Cottage Historical Society or Flint Association of the Deaf.
