He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Ellens and Bertha Ellens (Schripsema). He is survived by: his wife Diane Lucar-Ellens; his stepdaughters, Alexandra Lucar (Sanjay Lamba) and Melissa Lucar (Timothy Van Dyk); his daughters, Tarri Botwinski (Joe) and Tricia Dekkinga (Timothy); his grandchildren, Sophia Lucar Lamba, Katalina Lucar Van Dyk, Riley Botwinski, Jamison Botwinski, Quinn Botwinski, Parker Dekkinga (Victoria) and Joshua Roberson (Caliyah); his great grandchildren, Jireh and Nissi Roberson; and his brothers, Sy Ellens (Janice), Gerald Ellens (Gwendolyn) and Adrian Ellens (Margaret). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
