He was predeceased by: his former wife Janet; his wife Lona Scheer (Dawson); his stepchildren, Dawn Nover (Brian), Tom Dawkins (Rosina) and Todd Dawkins; his stepgrandchildren, Tim, Todd, Kendall, Trey, Britany, Levi, Walker, Tystan, Grant, Brittnee and Drew; and his siblings, Nancy Butler (late Richard), Carol Fennell (Paul), Robert Scheer, Alistair Scheer and Catherine Mack (late Robert).
He is survived by: his children, David Scheer (Michele), Mary Scheer Bush (Robert Bush), Martha Smith (late Harrison) and Elizabeth McCathron (Tom); his grandchildren, Emily, Alexander, Abby, Nathaniel, Kyle, Dallas, Langston, Bradley and Jessica; and his great grandchildren, Catherine, Hendrik, Harper, Ethan, Archer and Sienna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rg & Gr Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services (15451 Farmington Rd, Livonia, MI 48154). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
