He is survived by: his wife Debby; his children, Amanda Shepard and John Shepard (Nicole Ebhert); his granddaughter Sariaha Shepard; and his sisters, Marsha Jenks (Danny), Sandra Mock (Maurice), Judy Locklar and Diane Pethers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Cadillac (125 Stimson St, Cadillac, MI 49601-2237).
