He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Wilmer and Rachel (Rockey) Rice; wife: Roberta; children: William, Matthew (Salina) and Jennifer (Eric) Peterson; daughter in-law: Rebecca Rice; grandchildren: Kate (Mark), Joe (Ashley), Zachary (Emily), Kenzie (Zach), Olivia, Eli, Anthony (Alyssa) and Alexis; siblings: Winn (Charlie) Schonert, Kathy Rice, and Wilmer Rice (Bub); sister-in-law: Jean Roggow; brothers-in-law: David Johnson and Bill Johnson; in-laws: Marge and Jack Thirey, and Robert Johnson; and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Burkholder-Nielsen Funeral Home (211 N Pine St, McBain, MI 49657). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the University of Michigan Alzheimer's Research fund.
