He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Myron Overholt and Clara Overholt; his siblings, Ronald, Raymond (Millie) and Lucille Long (Wendell); his wife Bernadine; his sons, Timothy (Johan) and Brent (Penny); his grandchildren, Coleton, Wyatt, Justin, Courtney and Sarah; and his brother Roger (Loretta). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and countless dear and loyal friends.

Dick Posthumus wrote a sympathy message

“I am so sorry for the pain you must feel with the passing of your husband, father, and friend. I am sure he left you with some good memories. When I think of him, I think of two great memories; the wonderful times we had camping during hunting season and listening to him sing karaoke at the American Legion. As time passes, I assure you the pain will get a little less each day and the memories greater Dick Posthumus”
