He was predeceased by : his parents, Herman Manning and Maybelle Manning; his siblings, Fred Manning (Gerri), Virginia Dukes (Everett), Patty Loew, Etta May Coggin (Johnny), Jean Popma (Richard) and Klio Nusbaum (Sam); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Frowein.

He is survived by : his wife Jean; his children, Robert M. Manning and Tara Gravelyn (Luke); his grandchildren, Keenan Manning, Autumn Gravelyn and Violet Gravelyn; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Frowein and Jane Zimmer (Dal). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
