He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Caroline and Jack Russell Lyons. He is survived by: his son Gary Michael (Rachel); his wife Sally Jean; his son Mark Lyons (Tonya); his grandsons, Jack Robert Lyons and Henry Alan Lyons; his siblings, Robert Lyons (Julie), Eric Lyons (Sheila) and Nancy Yaw (Donald); his nieces and nephews, Shay, Scott, Connor, Claire and Madeline; and his in-laws, Susan Quardokus and Michael Quardokus.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
