We bid farewell to Melvin Turovaara (Calumet, Michigan), born in Wallace, Idaho, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 18, 2026 at the age of 91. Melvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmer Turovaara and Edna Turovaara (Wuopio); his wife Margaret Turovaara (Laho); his sister Dee McNally; his son-in-law Todd Perttola; and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Tuomisto (Mike Laho) and Marie Hermanson.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Turovaara (Cheryl), JoAnne Hyrkas (Paul), Karen Perttola and Magaret McColl (Rob); his siblings, Ina Coalman, Ada Montgomery, Gary Tuomisto, Patrick and Joan McNally; and his great grandchildren, Jim, Noreen Laho, Dan, Val Laho, Marie Hietala and Neil Hermanson. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren.
