He was predeceased by: his parents, John Salmela and Isabelle Salmela (Korby); and his nephew Erik Salmela. He is survived by: his wife Beth Salmela (Poulos); his son Travis Belter (Sherri); his granddaughter Aubrey Belter of Texas; his brothers, Allen Salmela (Kathrine) and Roy Salmela (Diane); his aunt Elaine Kipina; his friend Cukie; and his uncle Mike.
