Steven Malcolm Aleshire Obituary

Steven Malcolm Aleshire, age 74, of Camden, Michigan passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at his home. He was born on August 2, 1947, in Adrian, Michigan to Malcolm "Bud" and Marion (Birchfield) Aleshire. He married the love of his life, Cathleen Condon LaPlante, on May 25, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they had 23 memorable years together.

Following graduation from Adrian High School, Steve went on to serve his country in the United States Army and is Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed music, golfing, boating, fishing, University of Michigan football, open wheel and NASCAR racing, and a nice ice cold beer. Charming, witty, with an easy sense of humor and natural gift for gab, there was never a dull moment when with him; he will be missed by many.

Steve is survived by his wife, Cathleen; daughters, Leslie (Steve) Sanders and Kristen Aleshire; sister, Lynn Aleshire (Ron McDougal); granddaughter, Abigail Sanders; and Cathy Morrison, friend, honorary family member and caregiver.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tom and David.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, Michigan.

The family requests that any memorial remembrances be in the form of contributions to Hospice of Hillsdale County or the Disabled American Veterans organization.
