He was predeceased by: his son Edwin James McClendon III; and his parents, Dr. E. J. McClendon and Ruby McClendon. He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his child Tracy; and his sisters, Melody Johnson (Matt) and Joy McClendon (Jeff Lee). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
