He was predeceased by: his wife Linda. He is survived by: his children, Sherri Jacobsen (Keith McCormick) and William Jacobsen (Vanessa); his granddaughter Paige Jacobsen; and his sister Joan Emerson (Jim). He is also survived by sisters-in-law and eight nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes, an organization critical to his care during a childhood case of polio.
