He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gates and Emily Gates (Berry); his wife Karen Davis; and his great-nephew Noah Baker. He is survived by: his son Loyd Gates (Sarah); his grandsons, Corben (Kylie), Caden, Kylar, Dylan and Rykar; his great grandchild Ashlyn; his sisters, Janet Mullins (Gene) and Judy Verhille (Gerard); and his pets, Molly, Baylor and Snoop.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home (2345 S Custer Rd, Monroe, MI 48161). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
