He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Wambergue; and his parents, Benjamin Wambergue and Ella Wambergue. He is survived by: his son-in-law Henry Davis Jr.; his sisters, Nancy Hunley (Dolan), Betty Burleson (Gene) and Alice McGowan; his children, Janine Smith (Gary), Joyce Davis (Jody Gaddis) and Jason Wambergue (Holly); his grandchildren, Brianne Smith, Benjamin Smith (Krystal), Maurissa Smith, Jordan Davis, Jade Davis, Jette Davis, Jason Wambergue II and Lauren Wambergue; and his great grandchildren, Bailey Smith and Cooper Smith.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home (30895 W Huron River Dr, Flat Rock, MI 48134).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choosing in memory of James.
