We are sad to announce that, on December 1, 2021, at the age of 91, Madelyn Skaggs of Caro, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Grant Turner and Laura Turner (Kelly); and her husband James Skaggs. She is survived by: her children, Catherine (Don Erla) and Gary (Suzanne Skaggs); her grandsons, Jerry Erla of Caro, Brad Erla of Clawson, Ethan Skaggs of Madison and James Dennis of Manistee; Laurann "Jean".

“I wanted to say how much Maddie will be missed by her "skiing friends." As Patt VanDyke said (approximately), "By God, if that old broad can do it, so can I," and so she started something that was fun and warm in the middle of the winter cold, and changed the lives of several of us by teaching us to love being outdoors in the winter, rather than just surviving the season indoors impatiently waiting for spring. Thanks to her, I can't wait for the snow!”
