He was predeceased by : his parents, Glenn Hanson and Glendora Hanson (Avery); his siblings, Dawn Wisneski and Dale Hanson; and his siblings-in-law, Alice Hanson, Karen Hanson and Elmer Linner.

He is survived by : his children, Zach Hanson (Carla Hanson) and Ashley Hanson-Grimes (Lowell Grimes); his grandsons, Danny Angell (Samantha), Jackson Grimes and Masen Grimes; his great grandchild Blakely Angell; the mother of his children Maryann Hanson; his siblings, Gene Hanson (Linda), Terry Hanson (Maryann), Jay Hanson and Joy Linner; and his sister-in-law Sharon Hanson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
