We announce the death of Joan M Shirk of Casco Township, Michigan, born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 89. Joan will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hipp and Anne Hipp; her husband Wayne "Pug" Shirk; and her son Wayne Shirk Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Cindy Leone (Al), Pam Cooper, Kimberly Piltz (Frank), Jay Shirk and Ronald Shirk; her grandchildren, Roger (Amy), Cathy (Dennis), Amanda (Victor), Timmy (Tia), Randal (Jessica), Jenny (Pete), Ashley (Josh), Amber (Jeremy), Brittany, Grace (Justin), Maranda (Brendin), RJ and Jacinda; her brother Joe Hipp (Anne); her brother-in-law Richard Shirk; and her close friend Kathleen Henry. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Marysville Funeral Home (1200 Michigan Ave, Marysville, MI 48040). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Roseland Park Cemetery (29001 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI 48072).
