He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sampson and Josephine Sampson; his daughter-in-law Nancy; and his great grandchild Jane. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Marie Whelan; his sister Helen; his children, Bill (Michele), Barbara (Nick), Peggy (Mark) and Mike (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Rebecca, Heather (John), Chad (Andi), Justin (Kristin), Nicholas (Lindsay), Patrick (Alana), Katelyn (Nat), Michael (Erika) and Troy (Moira); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Caroline, Annabell, Charlie, Noah, Luke, Michael, Jack, Lexi, Cloe, Jaxon, Calvin, Cooper, Liam and Lana.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (15 Moeller St, Pigeon, MI 48755). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.
