He is survived by: his children, Jim Thayer and Nancy Thompson (Mark); his grandchildren, Cody Thayer (Morgan), Katie Greene (Daniel), Zack Thayer (Taylor), Alexandra Hancock (Michael), Austin Thompson (Margaret) and Randy Thompson (Blaire); his siblings, Les Thayer (Arlene) and Marlene "Marti" Steffens; and his sister-in-law Deb Thayer. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Beuschel Funeral Home (5018 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
