She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Short Sr.; and her siblings, Russell Deuel, Leona "Faye" Bement, Paul Deuel, Dwanye Deuel, Floyd Deuel, Lloyd Deuel, Thelma Davis, Doris VanDyken, Barbara Garrelts and Phillip Deuel.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Jr. Short (Charlene) and Shari Pond (David); her grandchildren, Joshua Bissenden (Doris), Zachary Bissenden (Jessica), Matthew Short (Amanda), Rebecca Nitka (Paul), Scott Pond (Chasity) and Shawn Pond; her great grandchildren, Charlie Short, Pius, Isabel, Tayeb, Ayden, Hannah, Kaleb, Kelin, Blake and Harper; and her siblings, Gerald Deuel (Mary Lou), Margaret Wilson (Jerry) and Judy Rohlfs (Denny Edgdahl). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Dowagiac Moose Lodge #933 (54867 M 51 N, Dowagiac, MI 49047).
