He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Ann; his parents, Charles Burkett and Alice Burkett; his stepson Reginald Mesko; and his sister Patricia Brown.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert A. Burkett (Kim) of Cassopolis and Rick Burkett (Tammy) of Fair Oaks, Indiana; his grandchildren, Ashley Mesko, Brooks Mesko, Bryan Burkett, Brandy Burkett, Justin Burkett and Matthew Williams; and his sister Charlene Allen. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
