She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Mongar and Myra Mongar (Dame); her former husband Harry S. Root; and her husband Thomas R. Owen. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Barnhart (Richard), Rita Pentoney (Randall), Donna Blakley, Stephen Root (Gretchen), Lisa Dibble (Larry), Laurie Reimer (Roger), Marvin Owen (Wendy), Ronald Owen, Christine Todd and Marty Owen (Jody); and her siblings, Daniel Mongar, Julia Houghton and Rex Mongar. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the K. E. Pike Funeral Home (13603 Northland Dr NE, Cedar Springs, MI 49319). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
