He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wichern and Lucille Wichern (Eitzen); his grandparents, Rachel Wichern, Claus and Clara Eitzen; his great-grandparent Larry; his grandfather Louis; and his significant other Marjorie Ann Hazel.
He is survived by: his uncle Tase; his brother-in-law Wayne; his uncle Lyle; his children, Kathy Frey (Jeff), James Wichern (Cindy) and Susan Piro (Gregory); his siblings, Jeannine Naslund (John) and Donald Wichern (Julie); his grandchildren, Eric Frey (Haneka), Kimberly Bathum (Nick), Michael Frey, Andrew Frey, Lee Wichern, Andrew Zeits and Emily Ellibee (Charles); and his great grandchildren, Somi, Kina Frey, Ada and Elliot Bathum.
