He is survived by: his children, Shawn Rakestraw of Kokomo, IN and Michelle Weesner (Bob) of Mancelona, MI.; his siblings, Ernie Rakestraw (Marge) of Kokomo, IN. and Roxie Carpenter of Central Lake, MI.; his granddaughters, Samantha Parrish of Michigantown, IN and Savannah Rakestraw of Kokomo, IN.; his great grandchildren, Paisley Jean, Ava Jolee Parrish and Waylon Lucas Parrish; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Barnes of Tipton, IN..
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mortensen Funeral Homes (2333 S Main St, Central Lake, MI 49622).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
