He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Shafer and Lucille Shafer (Towler); and his siblings, Earl, Chuck, Jamie Shafer and Lucy Shafer.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Jr. Shafer (Lory) of Central Lake, Jennifer Emery (Chuck) of Traverse City and Thomas Charbonneau (Christina) of East Jordan. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
