John Powell Obituary
In loving memory of John Powell of Charlevoix, Michigan, who departed this world on December 3, 2025 at the age of 92. John leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Powell and Effie Powell (Mason); his wife Thelma (Thorp); his sister Alma; his brother-in-law Bill Armstrong; and his children-in-law, Joseph LeCureux and Barbara Powell.
He is survived by: his children, JoAnne Patrick (Michael) of Charlevoix, John Powell (Regina) of Scottsboro and Nancy Melke (Richard) of Bowling Green, Kentucky.; and his brother Joe Powell (Velma) of Charlevoix. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes (209 State St, Charlevoix, MI 49720). A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
