He was predeceased by: his parents, Corey Smith and Frances Bartunek Wilsey Smith; his wife Lois Smith; his son Charles Smith; his siblings, Elenore, Raymond, Benjamin, Evelyn, Leonard, Marie, Beulah, Helen and Jean; and his grandson Tyler James Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Corey Scott Smith (Julie), James Smith (Julie), Michael Smith and Carey Smith (Christina); his grandchildren, Jake Smith and Chelsea Barton-Smith; his sister Dorothy Rhode; Ryan (Abby), Scott Smith (Nicole), Sonia, Ginny, Micah, Lauren, Jayden Mann (Brendan), Shayne Smith, Jasmin Pena (Blake), Augastine Mollette (Dallas), Christony Pena (Ryan), Waylon and Maleana. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Lawrence Avenue United Methodist Church (210 E Lawrence Ave, Charlotte, MI 48813).
