The passing of Darwin E. Smith (Charlotte, Michigan), born in Lansing, Michigan leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on May 31, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Smith and Anna Smith; his siblings, Louise Hamilton (Don), Bob Smith (Betty) and Marilyn Fedewa (Dick); his siblings-in-law, Enza Viges, Maurice Dershem, Peter Schrauben, Larry Bradbury, Steve Motz, Mike Motz (Shirley), Gwen Dershem and Mary Bradbury; and his parents-in-law, Herman and Magdalan Motz (Arens).
He is survived by: his wife Camilla "Cam"; his children, Tim Smith (Alice) of Grand Ledge, Tamara Boutwell (Dennis) of Bath, Todd Smith of Delta Township, Troy Smith (Melissa) of Delta Township and Traci Felman (Raul) of Lansing; his grandchildren, Justin (Sarah), Jason, Joshua (Lily), Kyle, Kelsey and Jonathan; his great grandchildren, Kaidan, Cameron, Owen, Camilla, Collins and Charlotte; his sister Pat Carter (Butch); and his sisters-in-law, Isabel Viges and Joanie Schrauben. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 6:30 AM to 7:00 AM. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Catholic Community of St. Jude.
