She is survived by: her children, Dick Sutherland (Jan) of Coldwater and Dorene Woolworth (Jim) of Edmore; and her daughter-in-law Charlene Sutherland of Charlotte. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren.

I couldn't wait for the sit down on the floor of Foster Elementary School while she read to us. She opened our eyes and imaginations. I had a chance to run into her several times as an adult and she knew who I was. We respected her. We loved her. If she were here today, she would still know all of the Nelson children.
