He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Albert and Hazel Emma Wells (Strotheide); his children, Pam Cuykendall, Edy Springstead, Annette Iemolini (Larry), Teri Dagruel (Mike) and Doug Wells (Mary); his siblings, Keith Wells (Bev) and Gloria Raines; his sister-in-law Maxine Wells; his wife Gertrude Wells; his son Steve Wells; and his brother Richard Wells. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson.
