We are sad to announce that on December 20, 2023, at the age of 88, Harlys Edna Scates of Charlotte, Michigan, born in Martin, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Byron Ellis and Eunia Ann Scates (Adams); his brother Carlys Peake Scates; and his sister-in-law Doris Scates. He is survived by : his wife Frances Scates; his children, Barry Scates (Eric Hoheisel) and Karen Scates; his grandchildren, Amanda Timko (Greg), Stephanie Klepac and Chaz Klepac; his great grandchildren, Bryce Yezic, Jacob, Laura, Grace and Hazel Timko; and his brother Jerry Scates (Jacki). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
