He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Albert Sundberg Sr. and Clara Grace Sundberg (Rosen); his son David Albert; his grandson Brent Eiskant; and his siblings, Katherine and Peter.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Campbell of Charlotte; his children, Patricia Ann VanKirk (Russell), Sherryl Sundberg Eiskant, Brent Alan Sundberg (Sonia) and Beth Ann (Neil); and his daughter-in-law Mary Sundberg (David). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
