We announce the death of Irving Neil Smith (Charlotte, Michigan), who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Miller (Smith) and Chester Miller; his son-in-law Matthew Nelson; his sister Wanita Clark (Art); his sister-in-law Kim Miller; and his niece Cherish Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Pierce; his children, William Smith of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Suzalyn Nelson of Charlotte and Moana Fuller; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Smith, Chelsea Smith, Dominique Spagnuolo (Zach), Will Smith, Lucas Nelson, Marcus Nelson and Justin Nelson; his great grandchild Emmette Smith; his granddaughter Bri Banfield; and his siblings, Dan Miller (Janette), Doris Ewing (Doug), Doug Miller (Betty), Darlene Cowling (Chuck), Dewayne Miller and Dwight Miller (Mary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home (206 W Lawrence Ave, Charlotte, MI 48813). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location.
