He was predeceased by : his parents, Lyle Baker and Pearl Baker (Bowen); his wife Nancy; his brother Richard Baker; and his sister-in-law Jessie Baker.

He is survived by : his son Shane Matthew Baker; his close friend Esther Renault; and his siblings, Susan Sutherland and Sam Baker.
