With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Elaine Melvin (Charlotte, Michigan), who passed away on September 16, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Zima and Pauline Zima (Michalski); and her parents-in-law, Adrianne Flynn and George Melvin. She is survived by: her husband George Melvin; her stepchildren, Travis Melvin and Melissa Bolton; her stepgrandchildren, Wyatt and Morgan; her sisters, Carolyn Zima and Margaret Johnson; her brothers-in-law, Guy Melvin (Tracey), Jeff Flynn and Scott Melvin; her siblings' children, Stacey Lingenfelter (Larry), Kelly Flynn, Kayla Flynn, Kristen Cheedie, Brooke Melvin, Taryn Melvin, Aaron Johnson (Jeoannie), William Todd Burford (Buffy) and Race Melvin; her cousins, Jim Michalski, Kathleen Black, Rick Michalski (Audrey) and Vicki Williams (Randy); and her close friends, Paul and Betty Vroman. She is also survived by 7 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (807 St Marys Blvd, Charlotte, MI 48813). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
