He was predeceased by : his parents, Calvin Choate and Geraldine Choate (Bird); his brother Richard; his daughter Christy; and his grandson Ryan.

He is survived by : his wife Sandra; his children, Diane Wright, Scott Choate (Jen) and Shelly Arsnoe (Ryan); his grandchildren, Jordan (Scott), Erika (Justin), Sean, Cami, Evan and Kennedy; and his great grandchildren, Morgan, Levi, Milena, Finley, Kobe, Amilia, Nathan, Ezra and Adrian.
