She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Schaefer and Cordelia Schaefer (Percy); her husband Chester W Newman Sr. of Mary's Catholic Church; her children, Euclid and Mary; and her siblings, Caesar, Rosalie, Adeline, Raymond, Carl, Robert, Albert, Hazel and Walter.

She is survived by: her children, Chester W Newman Jr. of Cheboygan, Rosalinda Newman of Cheboygan, Joycelyn Welsh (Roger) of Cadillac and Rocky Newman (Colleen) of Cheboygan; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lahaie (Matthew), Cary Howell (Dustin), Jessica Miller, Stephanie Renard (Duane), Amy Hobbs (David Dennis), Lindsay Sanford (Steve), Danielle Runstrom (Jeremy), Bryce Welsh (Dana), Felicia Walker (Lucas), Dana Paape (Brent) and Ryan Newman (Amber); her siblings, Louis Schaefer (Kathy), David Schaefer (Betty) and Millie Dalgord (Everette); and her sister-in-law Betty Schaefer. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
