It is with sadness that the passing of George Hamilton Holmes III of Chelsea, Michigan is shared. George, born on August 19, 1940 in Asheville, North Carolina, passed away on July 17, 2026. He was predeceased by: his parents, Helene (Solovioff) and George Hamilton Holmes Jr.; his grandparents, George and Marie Holmes; and his pets, Bullet and Herb.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Marianne Hollis; his sisters, Helene Holmes Haase (Dodie) and Jean Holmes; his children, Amanda Holmes Connelly (Jeff), Kathleen Walker Holmes and John Shannon (Mikaela Davis); and his grandchildren, Luca Tarasow (Hugh Kennington), Mike Tarasow, Roguen Brown and Truxton Brown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
