It is with sadness that the passing of Joan Ruth Van Orman in Chelsea, Michigan is shared. Joan, born on April 13, 1936, passed away on August 31, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Cox and Eleanor Cox (Churchill); her husband Robert A. Van Orman; and her brother Richard Cox. She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Rock (Arizona) of Goodyear and Kevin Van Orman (Debra) of Chelsea; her grandchildren, Brandon Clark (Rafaella) of Spokane, Jeremy Van Orman (Kaitlin) of Chelsea, Gregory Van Orman (Kelly Jo) of Chelsea, Jason Stetson (Alicia) of Fenton and Tracy Kelly (Jeffrey) of Pueblo, Colorado; her brother Warner Cox; and her niece Kay Van Orman. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ochalek Funeral and Cremation Service (218 E Main St, Milan, MI 48160). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Marble Park Cemetery (520 W Main St, Milan, MI 48160).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Joan's name be made to Arbor Hospice.
