He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Annette Schanz (Mike), Perry Fletcher (Connie), Daphne Merrill (Chris) and Melinda Rosentreter (Pat); his grandchildren, Justin Schanz (Heather), Shaun Schanz, Ashley Booth (Ryan), Matthew Widder (Lindsay), Adam Rosentreter, Karah Schanz and Tyler Widder; and his great grandchildren, Hayden, Sebastian Schanz, Quinn, Lucy, Everly Booth, Oliver Widder, Dax Davis and Emmett Richards.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home (901 N Main St #9487, Chelsea, MI 48118).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by helping someone in need or doing something kind just like he always did.
