She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Carl and Hulda Nelson; her husband Kenneth; her son Dr. David Johnson; and her siblings, Harlan, Elaine and Phyllis.

She is survived by: her children, Wendy (Bill Smith) of Ann Arbor and Scott (Tamra) of Chelsea; her daughter-in-law Laurie Clark of Rhode Island; and her grandchildren, Joseph (Marelly), Daniel (Leslie), Natalie (Chris), Matthew (MaryAnn), Andrew, Ben and Mabel. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
