He is survived by: his parents, Marjorie Diane Gates (Kohn) and James Walter Gates; his siblings, Tabitha McCabe of Grand Junction, CO, Bailey Sergeant (David) of Chelsea, Robert Gates (Emily) of Parachute, CO and Alice Gates (Kevin) of Rifle, CO; and his nieces and nephews, Shannon Wiley, Navaeh Cole, Christopher Sergeant, Elizabeth Gates, Natalie Gates and Cora Burk.
