He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Herman and Hazel Grace Westphal (Fox); his wife Janice "Jan" Karen Schull; and his brother Roger Westphal (Judy). He is survived by: his children, Wendy Cole (Allen) of Chelsea and Scott Westphal (Melissa) of Dexter; and his grandsons, Brian (Sarah), Joshua and Nathan Cole. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
