He is survived by: his wife Violet; his children, Laurie Birchmeier (Carl) of Saginaw, Richard Balamucki (Cindy) of North Carolina, James Balamucki (Peggy) of Traverse City, Linda Adams of Petoskey, Brenda Gordon (Doug) of Muskegon and Barbara McCormick (Dave) of West Olive; his daughter-in-law Susan Hollobaugh; his grandchildren, Mike Birchmeier (Jill), Anne Eickholt (Joe), Tom Birchmeier (Halley), Alex, Gina, Noah Balamucki, Jaime Clouthier (John), Autumn Whitehead (Dillon), Ben Adams (Jennifer), Casey Adams (Rachel), Jacob Gordon (Shannon) and Katie Gordon; and his great grandchildren, Addison, Luke Birchmeier, Brady, Mason Eickholt, Eli, Ella Birchmeier, Oliver Clouthier, Emily and Luke Adams.
Charitable donations may be given in memory of Ed to Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in St. Charles or St. Mary's Cemetery in Albee.
